Gaints

We all have giants in our lives ... whether it's the washing pile, the grocery bill, the misbehaving kids, or other life issues (could make a huge list here :giggle:) BUT here's an interesting thought for you ...

The hebrew word for gaint is "rapha'im"
The hebrew word for healing is "RAPHA"
both with a similar root word

Numbers 14:9 - Caleb says 6And Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of them that searched the land, rent their clothes:
7And they spake unto all the company of the children of Israel, saying, The land, which we passed through to search it, is an exceeding good land.
8If the LORD delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey.
9Only rebel not ye against the LORD, neither fear ye the people (giants) of the land; for they are bread for us: their defense is departed from them, and the LORD is with us: fear them not.

Conclusion - the giants in our lives will become healing for us, or through the giants in our lives we will be fed and gain from them, even if it's just a simple life lesson.   I do need to do a bit more study on this - since I'm not exactly a hebrew scholar - but I like the drawn connection (even if i might be not 100% certain).  even if you ignore the root words and the hebrew ... lets find confidence in our LORD because when he is with us, we don't need to fear ... let us rise up as Caleb and Joshua and face the giants in our lives - and refuse to be cowered like the other ten spies.  With God for us who can be against us!!
